Its standard equipment, including a genuinely comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, alone makes many pricier rivals feel a little stingy. If your priority is feeling genuinely pampered without paying German luxury prices, few vehicles make a stronger case.

The headline change is a larger battery, growing from 77.4 kWh to a bigger 84 kWh pack, which improves the driving range. Now for the candor this car deserves, because there’s one genuine weak spot. The Electrified GV70’s range is merely okay, not class leading. Because it’s based on a vehicle originally designed for a gas engine rather than built from the ground up as an EV, it can’t package as large a battery as some dedicated electric rivals. The 2026 update helps, raising the EPA estimated range to around 263 miles on the base trim’s smaller wheels, with the larger wheeled Advanced and Prestige trims rated closer to 243 miles.
That’s genuinely usable for daily driving and even reasonable road trips, especially given the fast charging, and notably one outlet exceeded the old rating in their real world testing. But it trails dedicated electric rivals that offer 300 miles or more, so if maximum range is your top priority, this isn’t the class leader. The GV70 asks you to value its extraordinary interior, its refinement, its speed, and its charging convenience enough to accept range that’s good rather than great. For many buyers, that’s a genuinely fair trade.
There’s one more practical catch worth knowing. The Electrified GV70 is sold in only 36 states, so it’s not available everywhere. If you live in one of the states where Genesis doesn’t offer it, that unfortunately settles the question regardless of how appealing the car is.

The Electrified GV70 is one of the genuine hidden gems of the luxury electric SUV world, a car that delivers an interior and an ownership experience worthy of a much more expensive badge, and does it for thousands less. The 2026 updates, the bigger battery, the NACS port, and the striking new display, address real weaknesses and make an already appealing car genuinely stronger. Add in seriously quick performance and fast charging, and you have a luxury EV that punches well above its weight.
In my opinion, the Electrified GV70 is a genuinely smart buy for the luxury EV shopper who values a sumptuous interior, real refinement, and strong value over chasing the longest range figure, and who lives somewhere Genesis actually sells it. Its roughly 243 to 263 miles of range is the one area where it trails the dedicated electric competition, and that’s worth weighing against your driving needs. But everything else about the car, the opulent cabin, the quick performance, the fast charging, and the genuinely appealing price, makes it one of the more compelling and underrated options in its class. Genesis built its reputation on delivering more for less, and the Electrified GV70 is that philosophy at its most convincing. If it’s available where you live, it genuinely deserves a spot on your list.
